The Cheap Russian Whore does Chicago

During her visit to Chicago my close friend Helena, who came to celebrate my birthday and hang out with me, brought along some fun outfits to play with and so we got back to doing our fun series "The Cheap Russian Whore". Which was an idea she came up with inspired in the type of women she had seen in Eastern Europe with a certain type of "look", tacky, over the top etc...

Our first set up was this seedy industrial spots for her first look which was all metallic and very retro 80s inspired. The second look was more of 80s prom dress in black and gold, for this one we decided on going to Cemetery as a second location but one of the people who worked out there told us we couldn't shoot with a model, bummer! So since we were close to boys town... I had her stand outside some gay adult stores and pose. Towards the end of the shoot Chicago Cops stopped us to see what we were doing, just being curious and friendly, maybe flirting a bit too... cause you know "She was stopping traffic with her "SZexyness", ahhh good times!

70th Floor

Another sexy photo shoot collab with my sexy model friend Jessica Stramer. I planned this very well and got some neat pieces from Vex, had one of my fave make-up artists Freddy on hair and make-up and an amazing location; an empty apartment facing south on the John Hancock tower on the 70th floor... Something bout being back in Chicago and my fascination with architecture and the skyline, modern tall skyscrapers and the feeling of "city" just inspires me. We did first some solo stuff with Jess and then she wanted some shots with her boyfriend Johny Radke (formerly of Kill Hannah) for a music project they had going on, I liked having them together as it created a cool atmosphere besides from the fashion/sexy perspective, more on the narrative side, which I always aim for. I even already started editing some of my faves.

How exciting!

Turning 30

They say 30 is the new 20. Well on the passing of a new age milestone for me, when no longer in my fun 20s but excited for the 30s, I had a fun weekend celebrating getting a year older. Went on a sail boat during the day in my last day being in my twenties. Later at night I had a small party with some friends, themed of course "Dirty Thirty" it was very fun, a lot of interesting friends came out to celebrate it with me, I was out until 6 am, slept til 3pm and then went for a nice walk. My birthday day was gorgeous sunny, warm day. I couldn't ask for more. Well two friends were sweet enough to get me a replacement for my camera that got broken. But what mattered most was having a great time with some of my fave people. Rock on!

Also Alex of House of Bias made me the gorgeous latex bustier I was wearing... 30's in style ;)

Vex's New Clothing Line

A busy but very enjoyable and mostly creatively exciting day while working, I shot Vex's new latex clothing line. Some months ago, Laura and I started thinking of ideas for how the images should be, I picked Darenzia to be the model, given I liked her look a lot and well have had great experience shooting with her before. So Laura and her assistants bring some gorgeous very avant gard latex pieces, jewelery, accessories that blows our minds. I start shooting around 1pm and don't get done till about 9pm, intense and long but amazing. Darenzia of course was a great sport, having to change and put pieces that don't feel as good under studio lights and the heat of summer. We did a few more photos next day, since I wanted to have also some lifestyle shots...

Now its going to be edit fest!

An amazing creative day shooting 3 funky sexy latex outfits by House of Bias with Darenzia modeling. It was hot day, but we made the best of it and used some neat outside locations that worked very good with the type of images we wanted to do with Alex, urban fashion & fetish with a splash of color and funk....

Lollapalooza

Lollapalooza was AMAZING! From all the music fests I've been to I have to say its in my top, location, the bands, the venue, the vibe... I was able to hook up vip passes, palled around with my model friend Darenzia, (who came to Chicago to model for a couple of jobs we would be shooting that week) saw my fave band in the universe, Depeche Mode from the stage, went to some amazing fun after parties, hanged around with some great friends, ran into some others, danced, took photos, closed the festival seeing Jane's Addiction also from the stage.

On a fun note since Darenzia came to Chicago to work with me, she didn't bring much of comfy shoes, after all in her own words she is a Diva, so she did the 3 days of festival in her YLS stilettos, they got muddy and all but she wore them with style. She is my new hero, hahah.

Route 66

Left LA Sunday at 11 am, drove through California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and finally Illinois. Irrived at Chicago today at 11 am! I'm exhausted but if it wasn't for my good friend Richard C. my trip would've sucked, we had a blast, doing the cross country trip, talked a lot and well took a lot of photos. I can say I'm VERY exhausted!

I did a fun shoot yesterday with German band Big Boy. My friend who is producing a reality tv series with them hired me to take some promo shots of band, I had not met them until shoot and was asked to bring a sexy girl(s) along. To my surprise the singer of the band was into fetish and wanted to be portrayed pretty much in the realm of what I do in erotica, although more PG, so I got really inspired and creative and had a blast...

A fun collaboration with Gary Baseman

I met Gary Baseman earlier this week. Some short time ago I added him on Facebook and then he wrote me back asking me if we knew each other, then I replied that I was a fan of his art. After he looked and my work wrote me back saying he wanted to meet and talk about possibly doing something together.

I couldn't be luckier today to have in a room some great creative minds, Gary Baseman , my friend Coop, model & muses; Skye Shelly & Zoli, plus two other friends who were helping me out. I had a blast while doing something so surreal fun and different to anything I've done before, because it was a melting pot of creativity and art. Already a memorable experience in my photo life to stand in its own as a whole chapter.

The New Erotic

Today I got interviewed by Ramzi Abed for his documentary "The New Erotic". Some weeks ago Ramzi contacted me to see if I was interested in been a part of his documentary, he had been following my career for a couple of years now and thought I would be a great addition to his film. I felt very excited & honored to be a part of it and of course accepted.

I was a bit nervous since I'm not very used to been on video but then Ramzi made me feel at ease, I answered honestly and I think I did a good job with the questions. He wanted the location we were shooting at to be related to me and what I do, so I thought the best place that says a lot about me was a hotel room, given that I shoot so much in them and well, they have that sexy classy allure to them...

My close friend Helena is going to ink her self in a similar outfit on her leg, this was our first attempt at taking the photo for it, but the tattoo artist wanted a very different pose and I said to her also a different outfit might look nice too, more on the pin-up side.

Its going to be fun for me to have a photo I've taken tattoed, after all is another form of image ;)

TZEN

I did two fun shoots earlier this week for TZEN jewelery. I had my friends Nina Cardella and Ewa Brzezik model for it, both whom I know from going out and both do some modeling. We had talked in the past about doing something together, so the right project came up where their striking looks was a right pick to go along with the elegant jewelery. In a way its great for me to expand my work beyond just erotica, because I love fashion and I can put my sexy eye input into something more commercial and still be creative doing what I love more than anything.

Nico N and I had a blast shooting together again. First we did some shots of her in some lovely Vex latex outfits outside in my friends Scooter and also in his apartment with a southern view of the Chicago skyline. Then I took her home and shot her in studio. I meet her last year on a weekend get away to Milwaukee. I contacted her last minute to see if she had time to model and she was a very pleasant girl and model. Then she came another time to Chicago and we shot some more fetish fashion and we've kept in touch since. Its fun when you meet cool people and later on build fun friendships. I have a believe that photos have a more real and fun sense to them when knowing the person on a more personal level.

The end to an amazing creative day, we saw Prodigy at The Congress Theatre later on, which was amazing! Brought back some memories from the 90s... The night didn't end there, we later met up with some lovely friends and we just had a fun night out enjoying life.

My friend Coop helped me out to get a neat location for my shoot with Aria Giovanni on Saturday. The place was simply awesome! Outside modern pool with gardens in Tiki style along with a very well decorated Tiki Bar.

I started shooting Aria outside, the day was perfect for light and temperature, then from a suggestion made by Aria to go in the water wearing only her garders and stockings we did some shots there, after took a break, had a glass of wine, dried up and finished with her in a yellow polka dot bikini at the Tiki bar. It was a very enjoyable fun shoot.

I got hired by to take some fetish photos of Zuliya who is a pro Domme, for her site.

We had an awesome location and some great wardrobe, what else can I do if not enjoy myself and work ;)

Black Licorice

I got emailed from this cool online erotic mag about them wanting to do an interview of me and since I liked their website I agreed. Then about 80% of the questions that they sent me were all about my self portraits. Took me a little longer than other times to be able to reply to them, somehow its easier to explain what I see in others than in myself. I don't analyze much of what I do with me, I just do it...

An unexpected twist to a fashion shoot.

Yesterday while I was doing a fashion catalog shoot for Electric Couture, the model made an interesting revelation that she wanted to model nude for Playboy and so for the last shots we snapped some of her topless... I also told her since I did a long time ago had a moment assisting for them, know a lot of people who shoot & work for them etc, that I knew they would love her look and that I might be interested in trying to do a pictorial with her and submit it, see what happens.

So, we drive out 90 minutes out North East of Los Angeles to this favorite Desert location and we have such a great time taking photos, being creative, hanging out, being silly and enjoying the scenery...

An image resurfaces from a dream Steve Diet Goedde had

My friend, the wonderful Steve Diet Goedde, posted on his Facebook page he had a wonderful dream about a magical camera that made medium format negs from a 35 mm body... So I made him a comment and he then responded:

"Oh Alejandra! It also magically produced images which I took with my Holga from previous shoots. One of them was of you in the desert. Now I gotta find those shots. It's a clue. Must follow the path!"

Some time later he send me a couple of images that were taken by his Holga. This one being a total fave, me in lingerie modeling for one of my fave photographers with my camera as we both were collaborating and just having a great time in the desert doing some photography.

Wonders of the Desert

I had promised Reu a long time ago, to take him to this awesome place on a photo adventure. So I did, he was very excited and did some great captures, mission accomplished.

Towards the end of our Road Trip Reu, proposed to go see the Sunset near the church where they filmed that massacre in Two Pines Scene in Kill Bill v.2. He had some notion where it was at (as he remembered driving by when he filmed the music video for Ladytron - Ghost in the area)and didn't take us much to find it, after we drove back west, parked the car on the side of the road to watch the Sun go down in this beautiful desertic landscape. Wonderful day, wonderful photos.

What a fun day! Shot first half of shoot just Aria solo at a room in the Roosevelt Hotel, then a more fun g/g set with Kimberly Kane at a friends house in a gorgeous room... In the end Kimberly left her lipstick all over Aria's lovely breasts.

What can I say, its fun making money even if it is shooting a catalog for hours, same poses, repetitive, tiring, but pays well and between this and working a 9-5...

I take the catalog anytime.

Styling Aria Giovanni

Yesterday I helped my friend Renard Garr with styling Aria Giovanni for his shoot. I've been familiar with her work for a while so it was cool to finally meet her. She is quiet a beauty in person, striking look as well personality.

I had the chance to show her my work and she loved it! :) So we are going to do a shoot together very soon, I just have to figure out a cool concept and produce something fun and sexy. Specially cause she wants to have 2 sets done. So we can do lots of interesting plots, and outfits....


It was fun watching Renard do his thing, I took a couple of snaps with my camera, nothing too serious. Its going to be very interesting to see what he got with her, he is very creative and a great photographer, I always enjoy collaborating with talented minds.
